How Aldar differs from other Dubai developers

Aldar is Abu Dhabi's master developer — the company behind Yas Island and Saadiyat Island — and it has carried that same scale into Dubai: a partnership with Dubai's own developer, three sold-out communities, and a first acquisition abroad.

Builds roads and bridges, not only homes: Aldar is the master developer behind Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and Al Raha, and its current projects include the road, tunnel and bridge network linking the new Marsa Al Saadiyat waterfront to neighbouring islands — infrastructure delivered alongside the residential communities.
Chosen by Dubai's own developer as a partner: Aldar's Dubai communities are built through a joint venture with Dubai Holding, launched in February 2023 and expanded in February 2026 with two further plots worth over AED 38 billion in gross development value.
Dubai launches have sold out within days: Each of the three Dubai Holding communities sold out at launch: Haven generated AED 3.1 billion, Athlon AED 4.1 billion in 48 hours, and The Wilds AED 5 billion in its first phase alone.

Who owns Aldar Properties?

Aldar Properties PJSC is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange under the ticker ALDAR. Mubadala Investment Company holds 28.03% of the issued share capital as at 11 August 2026, through its subsidiary Mamoura Diversified Global Holding PJSC. Alpha Dhabi Holding is the other large shareholder, having bought an AED 3.5 billion stake from Mubadala in March 2021.

Is Aldar an Abu Dhabi or a Dubai developer?

Aldar is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and listed there. It builds in Dubai through a joint venture with Dubai Holding formed in 2023, which has launched Haven, Athlon and The Wilds and added two further plots in February 2026 for almost 14,000 homes.

Which Aldar communities are in Dubai?

Haven in Dubailand, announced October 2023; Athlon, 1,492 townhouses and villas, on sale from 7 May 2024; and The Wilds, almost 1,700 homes, on sale from 27 February 2025. All three are built with Dubai Holding. A Palm Jebel Ali waterfront project and a community opposite Nad Al Sheba were added in February 2026.

How many homes does Aldar hand over?

Aldar completed 1,075 homes in the UAE between 1 January and 31 March 2026, 550 of them in March, and is working to more than 3,500 handovers during 2026 across 141 active construction sites in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah.

What is Aldar best known for?

On Yas Island, Aldar developed the Yas Marina Circuit, opened in October 2009, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, opened 4 November 2010, and Yas Mall, opened 18 November 2014 and still operated by Aldar. Its own circular headquarters at Al Raha was completed in 2010.

Where can Aldar's results be read?

Aldar publishes quarterly and full-year results on its own newsroom. In H1 2026 it reported revenue of AED 16.8 billion, net profit after tax of AED 4.9 billion, group development sales of AED 12.1 billion and a development backlog of AED 71.6 billion at 30 June 2026.
